About me

I graduated from University of California, Davis with a BFA in Design. For the past 11 years, I’ve worked as Product Designer focused on UI/UX design.

My experience includes working in multiple areas of Design from agency, to freelance, to in-house at tech companies and startups. I’ve been part of different size design teams and product orgs, from small early-stage to larger more established teams.

Most recently, I was at Instacart for 2 years helping the team prepare to IPO (🎉). Previously, I worked at Thumbtack, Change.org, Highfive, and Tripadvisor. I’ve delivered 0-to-1 products from concept stage to launch, and shipped many successful end-to-end experiences across platforms including web, iOS and Android.

I’m a Senior IC and have spent the majority of my career as an Individual Contributor. I have also been in Design Lead and Product Design Manager roles, responsible for guiding large initiatives from start to finish, influencing strategy, and mentoring Product Designers and managing teams. I received Design Leadership training and 1:1 coaching with Design Dept, and Leadership Training from Harvard Business School’s TLC.

In addition to Design, I love cooking, yoga, travel, gardening, interior design and camping in my retro Shasta Airflyte. Originally from a farm in Sonoma, CA with goats, ponies, cats and dogs. I’m interested in a variety of topics including health and wellness, exploring AI, climate change, building community and supporting small businesses.

My process

Understand

To solve problems with thoughtful solutions, I start by discovering and framing business and user problems, leveraging data and user research.

Create

I always explore a range of design options in collaboration with my partners, and then narrow in on a thoughtful solution through feedback and refinement.

Learn

Understanding the impact of my designs is one of the most rewarding and insightful parts of the process.

Values

Intentionality

Being strategic and thinking critically leads to the best outcomes. This means I often ask myself and my team questions such as: Are we addressing the most important problems? Have we considered multiple design options? What’s the rationale for the chosen solution?

Transparency

I’m very open with my work and pull in Design and cross-functional partners for input and collaboration throughout my projects. Collecting feedback from many perspectives helps us arrive at the strongest solutions as a team quickly — always prioritizing speed and quality.

Accountability

I have a strong sense of ownership and responsibility. In my day-to-day work, I consistently follow-through and proactively look for ways to move projects forward.
